DynoHash

Fee and privacy

What DynoHash takes, and what it sends. Both are written down here in plain words.

The dev fee: 2%

DynoHash is free to download and use. In return, 120 seconds in every 100 minutes of mining go to the DynoHash fee account instead of yours. That is 2%.

5,880 s mining for you120 s fee
  • It cannot be turned off. There is no setting, flag or file that removes it.
  • It is visible. The fee runs as its own worker. Your pool’s dashboard shows it by name, dynohash-fee- followed by your card type (for example dynohash-fee-r9700). Nothing is disguised.
  • It is the only thing we take. No other hashrate is diverted, and no hidden mining runs.
  • The card type in the worker name lets the pool’s own dashboard show real, pool-measured speed per card type. It carries no other information about you.

Every real build takes exactly this fee. A build that says it does not is a fake: see how to spot one.

Speed stats

Speed stats are on by default and easy to turn off. This is the exact wording DynoHash shows you, in the app and in the README:

Speed stats (on)

DynoHash sends your card model, speed, power use, temperature, tune settings and DynoHash/driver version, so we can make it faster for your card. Nothing private: no wallet, pool login, worker or computer name, or location.

What is sent, and nothing else

  • The report format version, the DynoHash version, and your operating system family and version.
  • The driver or runtime version.
  • For each card: vendor, model name, architecture (for example gfx1201), and video memory in GB.
  • The coin being mined, and for each card its hashrate (10-minute average), watts, TH/W, hot spot and memory temperature, and fan speed.
  • The tune settings in use (power %, voltage offset, clocks, work size) and whether they came from auto-tune.
  • The share of rejected or stale shares, and crash or error codes (codes only: no free text, no file paths).
  • A random install ID, made at install and only used to count each rig once. It is new when you reinstall, or when you ask for a new one. We store it only as a one-way hash.

What is never sent

Your wallet, pool login, worker name, computer name, user name, network or hardware addresses, serial numbers, or anything that points to where you are. Your IP address is not stored and not logged by our stats server.

How it is handled

  • Rarely. At most one report every 6 hours per rig, plus one after each tune.
  • Never in the way. If a report fails, mining carries on, and there is no retry storm.
  • Only over HTTPS, to api.dynohash.com.
  • Strict. The server accepts only the fields listed in the published schema, and rejects anything else.
  • Flood control without tracking. To stop floods, we count requests per address using a one-way hash that is salted with a value we delete every day. The counters go with it.
  • Kept for 30 days after a rig last reports. Then the rows are deleted.
  • Aggregates in public. The numbers on The Strip are medians for a card model, shown only when at least 5 rigs report it. No single rig is shown.

Our website host, Cloudflare, handles connections to this site and to our stats server as it does for any site on its network.

How to turn speed stats off

  • In the app: Settings, then Speed stats, then switch it off. The same screen explains what is sent and has a “View what’s sent” button that shows the exact JSON of the last report.
  • Command line: start DynoHash with --stats off, or set stats = false in the config file.
  • Rig packages (HiveOS, mmpOS) expose the same setting.

You are told once on the first-run screen, with the switch in view, and on one line of every start-up log. With stats off, nothing is sent.

Posting a time slip

After a dyno pull, you can press Post my time slip. That is a choice you make each time. A posted slip is public.

Your nickname is shown publicly with your time slip. Leave it blank to post as Anonymous.

  • Nicknames are 3 to 24 characters: letters, digits, spaces, dash, underscore and dot.
  • Links, email addresses, @handles, phone numbers, wallet addresses and long codes are refused, and so are reserved names (such as the project’s own name) and rude words.
  • Slips are listed on The Strip for cards that five rigs report. A slip never carries your wallet, pool, worker name or computer name.
  • We can take a slip down. Email support@dynohash.com.

Beta sign-up

The sign-up form on the home page asks for your card model, how many cards you have, your operating system, your email address and, if you like, a nickname. We only use your email to send you the beta download. Ask us to delete it anytime: support@dynohash.com.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is filling it in. We do not store your IP address, and we send no email when you sign up.

Delete my data

Rows are deleted 30 days after your rig last reports. To remove yours sooner, or to leave the beta list, email support@dynohash.com. If you can, include your install ID so we can find the rows.
